Red Cross pickup assignment - a photo on Flickriver

On May 10th, 1919, six months after Germany's surrender but before the formal end of the war on June 28, 1919, Red Cross driver Beatrice G. McGraft, using a Ford Sedan, was assigned to, "report to Hotel Albert - take nurse to G.C. Palace".
The Hotel Albert remains in New York City, but has been converted to condos - see thehotelalbert.com for its history. "G.C. Palace" is thought to be the Grand Central Palace, the famous hotel built over the Grand Central Station in 1911, and demolished for "progress" in 1964.
