A-7E Corsair II for the Great Western Brick Show

            I'm being lackadaisical about scale and am using minifigs. What is happening to me?  I must be slipping. 

I'll be displaying Vietnam models in the UK in the coming weekend, together with Aleksander Stein. However, we figured that with the models we built for BrickFair (and Péter Dorbach's MiG-21, which he leant to me), US air power was somewhat under-represented. I also wanted to reuse the fire engine I built to go with Evan Melick's Phantom and Matt Hocker's carrier deck. I briefly considered building a minifig scale and studless version of some Navy aircraft for the event, but my Tracer took up almost all of my building time since the summer. 
That new aircraft would be 1/40, whereas my existing models are 1/36. That's only a 10% difference. Is that worth all the trouble? I figured it isn't, so I'm taking my existing A-7. It does look a tad big with the minifigures, but few people will know just how big an A-7 really is and the dude in the cockpit looks like he belongs there. The model represents a jet that served aboard Nimitz in 1978, but five years earlier Corsairs in the same markings flew missions over Vietnam, from USS America. I took off the bit with "USS Nimitz" stickers, so now it's even historically accurate.
