F-105D Thunderchief (1) - a photo on Flickriver

            This aircraft is featured in Brickjournal Issue 22 and since the Issue has been out for a while and Issue 23 is about to come out very soon, I've decided to publish the pictures. 

The Thunderchief was designed as a fighter bomber. Armed with an internally carried nuclear weapon, it would penetrate enemy air defences at high speed and low altitude. However, the war that the Thunderchiefs ended up fighting was very different. During the first years of the Vietnam F-105s bore the brunt of the USAF's bombing campaigns of North-Vietnam, dropping conventional bombs from higher altitudes.
