            I never saw this little bloom before in my yard. I went to uproot the plant as an invader and it hurt me with the "prickles". Hmph. I had to look it up:  "The prickles on this plant help to discourage grazing by livestock; it is also highly toxic." Since I haven't had any cows grazing through my yard lately, I'm thinking it might be headed for the recycling can. I'll be using my leather gardening gloves. Who knew?! The more I look at it, the more it looks like it's sticking its tongue out at me and guarding its beauty.
