            Colorado National Monument

The road home was on going after leaving Utah in the rear view. My next main stop was the Great Sand Dunes of Colorado. But before arriving I ended up stopping at two more smaller NPS parks, one being Colorado National Monument and the other actually being a National Park (Gunnison National Park) which we will get to later. 
Colorado National Monument is beautiful,  honestly I've never heard of it prior to seeing a sign and saying what the hell I'll check it out. As I entered through the toll booth I was greeted by one of the largest groups of ram I've ever seen, probably at least 15-20 crossed the road and looked at me like I was an alien from another world, it was a pretty peculiar feeling. Pretty excited about seeing wildlife so easily I continued on, and upward. The Monument has some awesome drive through tunnels in the park on your way up to the look outs.
One of the most amazing lookouts in the park is Monument Canyon overlooking miles and miles of desert terrain peppered with small shrubs and vegetation.  
Sadly I only had a few hours to really drive around and see outlooks and the visitor center.  Next time I get to see Colorado Ill definitely have to stop by and hit a few trails out here.
