099 2017 Palm Sunday - sales, horses, church

            Once again, we had beautiful summer weather all day, although it's still spring. The first car boot sale of the season was held on the village green. I don't normally go, but today being Palm Sunday, we were meeting on the green before processing down to church together. I got there early, and bagged a few bargains. Then we gathered, with a child on a pony acting as Jesus riding a donkey into Jerusalem! There was also a horse accompanying the pony, but as we got to the bottom of the hill, and the pony went into the churchyard, the horse escaped and bolted back up the hill! It was going at full pelt, ran amok amongst the car booters, and was finally caught by a brave lady who was experienced with horses. Fortunately, no people or property were harmed, and the horse was returned safely to its field.

The Palm Sunday service passed off with no further dramas, and afterwards I went to the Rare Plant Sale over the road, at The Old Rectory. I bought 5 new plants for the garden, and managed to carry them home on my bike.
