            I had planned to take my sister, Liz, out for a trip today, but I hadn't told her about it, so I could change the plans without a problem. We all slept pretty well, and Lucas didn't wake up until about 7.30am, which was great for everyone! He and I had a fun morning playing with Hot Wheels, DUPLO and Noah's ark. Then I had to have my lunch and set off for Broughton Gifford, to look around a care home for Liz. It felt weird driving past the end of her road and not calling in! I wore a mask for the visit, as I have a cold, and didn't want to risk passing it on. The deputy manager showed me around, and coincidentally, she used to work at the other home I've looked at already. She said her self that they are almost polar opposites: Wiltshire Heights is purpose-built, modern and like a hotel, whereas The Old Parsonage is in an old building, with smaller rooms, and not such a smart decor etc. However, the ambiance was also very different. Rather than stark, quiet, with no activity or much sign of life, The Old Parsonage was busy, full, with lots of staff interaction with residents and their relatives. It felt much more alive and personal, if a bit rough around the edges! Very interesting.

Mike and Bethan had a busy afternoon with Lucas, going to the playground and playing with train track, pretend kitchen etc. After our meal, Lucas had a bath and then it was time for bed. We also had a lovely video chat with our son and family, and saw the new kittens too.
