            Fardapur was actually no more than a stop on the road for us, a convenient starting point to visit Ajantha the next day. The hotel was not centrally located (not that that would have helped) and the "Restaurant and Beer Bar" unimpressive: the food was so-so, to impress on us this was a "beer bar" no soft drinks were available, and a waiter was unable to bring a cup of tea to the other side of the table without spilling a lot of it into the dish.

No wonder there were hardly any takers besides us? Yet the management seemed to think the problem was only lack of publicity, since they had employed an advertisement painter to create a series of new billboards. I'm not sure whether it's the painter or whoever hired him who cannot spell "continental", otherwise he was doing a good (but probably futile) job. ;)
