20130226 Hospet - Gokarna

            In India lots and lots of house and compound walls are covered with huge ads (apparently arranged through agencies). For the house owner it's a double benefit: not only will they be paid for the advertising, but the paint also helps preserve the wall - especially important in monsoon areas where the rains can cause a lot of erosion.

During a lunch stop on our way from Hospet to Gokarna I noticed a curious side effect of such advertising: what was once an outside wall clearly visible from the road had 'disappeared' because the little restaurant was built right next to it, without even bothering with a side wall: The Airtel ad is now the kitchen wall!

Some of the utensils seen are for making chai.
