Keep Your Head Up High - a photo on Flickriver

Yay, It's Friday, and after 'helping' people for the first four days this week, I have a day off. So, I thought I would do another good deed and do a spot of counselling!

I arrived early, I do hate being late for anything, it makes me really stressed. It was still pretty dark, the curtains were just being raised ever so slighlty to let the first light of day in and my subject was still slumbering with a soft fluffy duvet pulled up over his head. He has quite an existence, having to cope with all the meteorologists can throw at him; mostly it goes over his head but otherwise he just lets it run off him. He leads a very static and sedimentary lifestyle (well igneous would not work would it) and he is quite an impressive size as a result. If he were any less mobile moss would grow on him, come to think of it, he does have a nice selection of mosses and lichens. He is a bit of a star and is in great demand from both photographers and artists alike who recreate his beauty with many Diff'rnt Strokes!

He has been having a difficult time of late, he feels his life is going nowhere and all his visitors just leave him feeling downtrodden. I stressed upon him that he should feel blessed to live in such a gorgeous part of the world and to wake up to the most beautiful view every morning. I don't think the session progressed particularly well, he spent most of the day hiding under the duvet, just making the odd teasing appearance, and that was how I left him. So after some snaps for the archives I said farewell to my friend Tryfan and promised him I would probably see him in a few weeks time for another session. He remained stony faced about that prospect!
I don't think I'll be giving up my day job just yet, lots to learn!
