Centaurus A (The Hamburger Galaxy) - a photo on Flickriver

A wide field view of Centaurus A or NGC 5128 (also known as the Hamburger Galaxy). Centaurus A is a peculiar looking giant bright (nearly edge-on) elliptical 'active starburst' Galaxy 12 million light-years away, and is responsible for bursts of intense star formation.

The center of the Galaxy contains a Supermassive Black Hole with a mass equivalent to 55 million solar masses (meaning 55 million times the mass of the Sun, which gives some indication of the unfathomable Gravity that this Supermassive Black Hole must have).
