Gurnet Light - Plymouth - a photo on Flickriver

The Plymouth Light, also known as the Gurnet Light, was built on land and is located 3.8 miles northeast of Plymouth Rock. In 1801, the lighthouse was destroyed in a fire, and in 1803 twin, twenty-two-foot-tall lighthouses were built. In 1924, one of the towers was torn down. Today, there are occasional open houses that are held at the lighthouse to allow the public to visit the site.
