Shrouded in Darkness

After our two days stay at the Seiser Alm, we sadly had to say goodbye to this amazingly beautiful place and continued our trip to the Seceda. We planned to take the cable car right up to the top from which we then just had to hike down to the Fermeda cabin at which we stayed one night. We arrived a little late at the lift station and hence the cars already queued up at the parking lot, where we feared that we didn’t get any parking spot anymore. However, after patiently waiting a bit, we even got a parking spot right next to the lift station and were super happy and excited to finally get up to the Seceda. At the top, we first went right to the famous viewpoint, but there were crowds of people and so we decided to bring our luggage down to the cabin before hiking back up for sunset. The hike down was quite long and also exhausting since it was quite steep (and we didn’t sleep very much the last days), but instead of hiking back up, we decided to take the chair lift, especially since we had a late lunch and felt pretty tired afterwards. Back at the top, we walked around and then sat down at a meadow, where I noticed this mountain peak surrounded by some pretty dramatic clouds in the distance. I quickly put on my Tele lens and took a few images handheld. I didn’t put up my tripod as the clouds were moving and thus I didn’t want to risk losing this composition. I rarely do black and white images since I really like color, but here I felt that it adds to the atmosphere and brings the attention to the bright clouds and the peak in the middle. I hope you like it!
