(Not a Yellow) Russian Submarine - a photo on Flickriver

            In Amsterdam-Noord bij de NDSM-werf ligt deze Russische onderzeeër. In 1956 werd de Foxtrot B-80 gebouwd in de Letse hoofdstad Riga als onderdeel van de Russische vloot. In 1991 werd de afgedankte boot naar Nederland gehaald door een paar ondernemers en sinds 2002 ligt hij in Amsterdam. Grootste plannen waren er door de jaren heen, maar daar kwam weinig van terecht en heeft het alleen maar een hoop geld gekost. De huidige eigenaar is een Turkse firma die plannen hadden om de boot te slopen, maar de Sovjetonderzeeër is ook voor de Turken een financiële strop geworden. Als de boot gesloopt zou worden zouden sommige onderdelen naar een museum in het Spaanse La Coruña gaan. 

Amsterdam wil de duikboot weg hebben, de vraag is alleen wanneer dat echt gaat gebeuren.

In Amsterdam-Noord at the NDSM shipyard this Russian submarine is located. In 1956 the Foxtrot B-80 was built in de Latvian capital Riga as part of the Russian fleet. In 1991 the discarded boat was taken to the Netherlands by a few entrepreneurs and since 2002 he is in Amsterdam. There were big plans over the years, but little happened and it only cost a lot of money. The current owner is a Turkish company that had plans to demolish the boat, but the Soviet submarine has also become a financial trap for the Turks. If the boat would be demolished some parts would go to a museum in the Spanish La Coruña. 

Amsterdam wants to get rid of the submarine, the question is only when that really will happen.
