SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA 402 - a photo on Flickriver

            2340 Chestnut St.: The single-screen El Presidio Theatre first showed films in 1937 and continued doing so for more than 60 years. After an extensive remodel, the theater reopened in 2004 with four screens and wisely the 1930's facade was kept unchanged. The venue (which never had any official affiliation with the SF Presidio military base) was a favorite for Soldiers and Sailors stationed nearby who could make the quick walk to it from their barracks on post.
