Pepino Melon (Solanum muricatum) - a photo on Flickriver

            Another one of my Andean food plants. I am still experimenting when to pick the fruits. This one I picked when it turned slightly yellow and was starting to soften. The flesh is a light yellow, juicy and has a sweet flavour resembling melon with a touch of cucumber.
