中國北京市密雲區石城鎮 - a photo on Flickriver

The G234 is one of my favourite national roads in China and one of its most scenic parts is between milestones km 100 and km 130. You can see some of it faintly at the right hand side of this picture. It is beautiful in all seasons (but dangerous in winter) and in any kind of weather.

This is in Miyun District, in the northern half of Beijing Municipality, not far from Asia's largest reservoir that provides drinking water for 20 million. Miyun means "dense couds".

This photo was taken on a Monday morning, at a time when millions of tired people in the same city were commuting to work in crowded buses on a cloudy day. There was no traffic on the G234 whatsoever. It's good to take a day off every once in a while.
