I had pit tickets for this show but got there pretty late so didn't even bother trying to get in the front.  All the shots at this venue were taken with a 70-200mm lens from either the back or at/near the rail at extreme stage right or left.  So, quite far away.  The powers of a good zoom lens cannot be underestimated.
