Lumen No 3 paper negative - a photo on Flickriver

            Third ever Lumen print (No 2 was accidentally redscale and... well... not effective)    20 year old  Ilford Multigrade RC 5x7 cut down to 4x5.  Put in a plastic 4x5 film holder and dampened with a cotton ball and some distilled water.  Exposed on the porch for 35 minutes in direct setting sun, up from 17 minutes. Shot with 1956 Speed Graphic and Aero Ektar lens 178mm at f2.5.

The negative clearly shows the variation from the cotton ball damening which is the "cloudy" space in the middle.  You can see what look like layers or tears in the image in the positive, that is from the overlapping water daubs.  The edges were not fully colvered so the image falls off, a kind of natural vignetting. 

The paper negative is the result as it came out and scanned.  The "Lumen No 3" positive was scanned with a canon 9000f and vuescan software and then edited in photoshop.  

I am so impressed with this process and a believer.  This is an unreal thingy.
