Meerkat and pup, Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Hale (Milnthorpe), Cumbria, UK

            Possibly due to a long-running TV ad campaign, it seems most zoos in the UK have tried to incorporate crowd-pleasing groups of meerkats into their collections – a bit like the 'Finding Nemo' effect on aquaria.  However, as a regular visitor to several zoos (something like ten different ones in the past year), I'd say the meerkats at the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis are the most friendly to human visitors.  I'm not certain that's a good thing....
