County Sessions House, Liverpool, UK

This Grade II* Listed building at the top of William Brown Street, next door to the Walker Art Gallery, currently accommodates the offices of National Museums Liverpool, but as the facade indicates, it was built as a court in 1884.

The crest over the doors is that of the County Palatine of Lancashire (not 'Lancashire County Council'), as seen on the old police station in Skerton, Lancaster, which suggests the version with the plume-bearing hounds may have had a particularly association with policing in Lancashire.
