Snowy Greenhead Gill and Great Rigg, above Grasmere, Lake District National Park, Cumbria, UK

            My eye was initially caught by the stripey shadows of those tributary gills (gulleys) to the left of the main stream, highlighted by one of the last patches of evening sunshine.

Butter Crag, below Heron Crag, is at the right of the foreground, 2.8 km away; Alcock Tarn is just off the edge of the image.

The left side of the valley rises to Stone Arthur, off the left of the image.  That's on a side ridge of the Fairfield Horseshoe, joining between the aforementioned Heron Crag and Great Rigg, which reaches 766 m asl on the skyline, 5 km from here at High Close.
