PROJECT 52 #29 - Rock and Roll - a photo on Flickriver

How would the music-inspired photo project look like without the photo of a musician?

It was probably the easiest title to interpret so far. To make the portrait of a real rock musician, with long hair, electric guitar and mind-blowing colour light, I hired the old friend from the high school times. My idea was to use the colour filters on flash units in order to create some gig-like atmosphere, powered by the model's pose - shooting people with his guitar. This pose is well-known for all Iron Maiden fans - it's leader, Steve Harris, acts like this at the stage very often. So - in this particular shot, we merged not only Jimmy Page, but also Steve Harris, K.K. Downing... and maybe even Varg Vikernes a bit. :)

It was the third time I was using these colour filters. I bought them a month ago, tested the first time during after-project session (#26) and the second one, a week ago. But this shooting with Jan was the first time the effects were just as I had wished.

Flash unit: 2x Yongnuo YN-568EX II + three Yongnuo RF-605C transceivers.
Modifier: 80cm square softbox (frontlight) + Phottix 80cm silver reflective umbrella (backlight).
