New Guy In Town

A new blog post went up last night which featured my introduction to the wild flamingos which came to Florida for a bit of a visit. Check it out at:

No, these are not roseate spoonbills! LOL. OK, I say that because often when visitors to Florida first see a roseate spoonbill, they call it out erroneously as a flamingo. I know, I did it the first time I saw one. (OK, those of you who know my bird identification skills, or better yet, lack thereof, can stop laughing)

This was one of a flock of wild flamingos which, on rare occasion, return to Florida for a short stay. I had always wanted to see them and this year, I was fortunate enough to do so. I was quite honored and excited and happily clicking away. :-) I couldn't help but wonder what the other mixture of wading birds thought of the "new guy in town".
