             The zipper is a fastening device consisting of two parallel rows of metal, plastic, or nylon teeth on adjacent edges of an opening that are interlocked by a sliding tab.  The zipper was made in 1893.The first zipper was made in Chicago, Illinois by Whitcomb Judson and Gideon Sundback. The first zipper was called the clasp locker. Universal Fastener Company manufactured the first zipper.
