vimeo.com/112485969 (video slideshow) The purpose of Croeso Ceidwad y Llyn (Welcome to the Keeper of the Lake) was to celebrate the installation of an oak sculpture at the Wilderness Lake, Porthcawl, Wales. Our sculpture is one of a series inspired by Daniel Lock (Ranger at Bryngarw House), crafted by Dai Edwards (chainsaw artist) and funded through Bridgend County Borough Council. The evening has been put together by a small group of like-minded folk and tries to root (excuse the pun) the sculpture in its environment and to give it a purpose and a voice. In so doing, we hope that the programme takes us back to the underpinning vision behind all the sculptures ie Keepers of the Story of the Land. The evening was meant to be spiritual but non-religious: elements of the programme can be traced back to Celtic and other traditions from across the world. Hopefully, you will enjoy the interplay of our senses with nature's elements, and lead you to find a worthwhile meaning to the overall experience. V2C / BCBC kindly agreed to support the evening as part of their Space Saviours project.
