A stone labyrinth

            This image is form the New York State Capitol in Albany New York.  The staircase is called the Million Dollar Staircase.  The staircase took over 14 years to complete.  It features work from over 500 sculptors.  There are many faces in the stonework, and many are of famous people.  However, not all of them are.  Some faces were left to the sculptors, so they carves faces of friends and even people passing by!  While the original staircase cost 1.5 million dollars, in 2006 the State restored the staircase to tune of 2.8 million dollars.  While this staircase hogs the limelight, we were surprised to find so many other beautiful staircases in this building.   

Ok, the shot.  This was a tripod shot, 5 image exposure blend to take the lights and capture the shadows.  No issue getting no one in the image, there was no one there.  We had the place to ourselves.
