Railroad Pole, Muncie, Indiana - a photo on Flickriver

            Delaware County, Indiana

Looking west, the railroad pole line is for the old former New York Central (NYC) which is the double tracks on the left. The track on the right is the old former Nickel Plate Road (NKP) and are two different NKP lines.

Today, the old NYC is the CSX Indianapolis Line Subdivision, and the old NKP is the NS Frankfort District curving off to the right, and the NS New Castle District making the curve to the left (south), crossing the NYC.

These wires would of carried the circuits for the railroad signaling system, and the older former communication circuits for telephone or telegraph or both. I don't know if this rail line had its own power line circuits or not. In the background left on the utility pole with the transformer bank are two old Westinghouse transformers.
