A Caribbean Morning on Princess - a photo on Flickriver

            I just returned from a 14 day Caribbean cruise on Princess. This was my first cruise. It was an interesting (but mostly positive experience). 

The cruise was great. Each night you go to sleep and the next day you wake up in a new place. Kind of neat. 

The downside for those into photography is usually the ship pulls into port in the morning after sunrise and leaves port before sunset. This limits your opportunities for those golden hour shots. This is not too bad for the Caribbean due to the vibrant colours everywhere which look great at midday but the very few hours you have ashore limits the time you have to shoot.

A couple of times we did have departures after sunset,  but usually we had to get back to the ship before golden hour began.

Anyways, despite the limiting time I still managed to shoot 6500 or so pictures, which hopefully means 50 to 70 keepers based on a 1% success rate. I love digital for this. 

This picture is a panorama taken at sunrise as we made our way to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
