Cattle Egret Blur (1 of 1) - a photo on Flickriver

            You need to take a lot of slow shutter speed panning shots in order to get one you like.  I like the special effects that are sometimes created when the shutter blurs the wings and background, and the face or head remains acceptably sharp. It’s a good thing to practice when you’re waiting for the sun to rise and provide some light.  Here’s a Cattle Egret carrying a stick for its nest.  The dark water in the background gave me a contrast with the bird that appeals to me.  (Bubulcus ibis) (Sony a1, 200-600 @f/8, 1/40 second, ISO 100.
