Best viewed large on black to see some shadow details. Tunes: I love some of Robert Plant’s solo stuff... Liars Dance being my fave, thought Darkness Darkness to be more appropriate for the shot though.

Well, this was taken in my back yard (virtually), down on Slapton Ley. Those that know the area will doubtlessly have walked these boardwalks at some stage. This part of the Ley reminds me of where Luke Skywalker found Yoda in Star Wars... anycheese, ..no Jedi Master seen on this night.

Actually, I was on my way home after a fab night that you guy’s inspired me to go on. The sun had long since gone down, there was some light in the sky but mainly moonlight, and it was essentially dark. I was fumbling around here for a while dodging oncoming bats that must use this as some sort of bat super-highway. I finally got a shot off, waited for the camera to do its thang when there was a rustle, a sniff and the pattering of feet,.. then out of the gloom came a massive badger heading straight for me! Now normally when a badger takes one look at a human it bolts into the nearest bush... but this one must have been upwind of me, i know their eyesight is bad, but still,.. the bugger came trundling right up to me... I stood there for a while as he bumped his head and sniffed the legs of my tripod (so to speak), a friendly fella but I was actually slightly concerned he was going to knock my camera over or even bite my flip-flop covered toes... Just as i was switching my camera’s flash on he heard me and before i could get the camera recomposed he had disappeared... certainly the closest i have come to a badger and big bonus to this shot... there was one more final treat install for me on this night that I did manage to capture though...
