The western edge of both districts is Lamar Boulevard, identified by the Lamar Boulevard Bridge in the lower left. The other two bridges are the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge in the center and Austin's iconic Graffiti Train Bridge on the right.

Seaholm District
Over the course of 25 years, Austin has meticulously transformed nearly 90 acres of industrial land in southwest downtown into a vibrant, urban neighborhood. The iconic Seaholm Power Plant, a testament to Austin's industrial past, seen to the right of the Graffiti Train Bridge, lends its name to the entire Seaholm District. It symbolizes the city's commitment to revitalizing this prominent area in the heart of downtown Austin. At the edge of the river's north shore is the Seaholm Intake Facility, a historic landmark, and just north, with its tall smokestacks, is the turbine generator building, now repurposed as apartments.

After the power plant was decommissioned in 1989, the property was designated a brownfield site and considered too contaminated for use. Between 1997 and 2003, significant investment was devoted to cleaning up the historic site, and in 2005, a public-private partnership was formed to redevelop the building using green design and construction practices. The restoration of the power plant has not only revitalized the area but also created a ripple effect of sustainable development, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. Today, the Seaholm District stands as a vibrant hub of residential, office, and community gathering spaces, a testament to Austin’s spirit of originality and soul.

Market District
To the north of Seaholm is the Market District, a dynamic and rapidly growing residential and commercial area that is sure to captivate your interest. It is an area known for its luxury high-rise apartments and condos, renovated low-rise apartments, and a lively cluster of bars and restaurants known as “West Sixth.” default
