Archive: The Blue Marble - a photo on Flickriver

This famous Earth photo, known as The Blue Marble, was captured by the Apollo 17 astronauts on the same day that they left Earth riding on a Saturn V rocket developed by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. The photo is one of the most frequently requested NASA photos and became part of the official Earth Day flag.
