Smoking in enclosed public places in the United Kingdom was officially prohibited on July 1, 2007.

The impact of the smoking ban on cigarette sales is a complex issue. While the ban did not lead to an immediate decline in cigarette sales, it was part of a broader trend towards reduced smoking rates in the UK.
