            Burns Point - Pointe Sale' - East Cote Blanche Bay - Shrimp Bayou
St Mary Parish, Louisiana

This area is surrounded by both live and dead cypress & oak trees. Each line the coastal and bayou regions. The bird, animal and aquatic life is prolific. One is apt to see anything from a large alligator, river otter, muscrat, black bear, bald eagle, dear, 15 types of wading birds and more. This Delta land is an ancient Indian space. Many prehistoric sites are scattered across the landscape. The fishing is excellent and diverse depending on the travel around the area. Coupling the wild natural beauty, ancient sites and excellent fishing is the business engine of natural gas and oil extraction. Extraction began in this area of Louisiana in the 1930's under the Win or Loose Oil company.
This is an area truly exemplying all that is the symbiotic dichotomy of Louisiana. 
I highly recommend a visit. If you want to stay the night, the camp ground at Burn's Point is very well run by a lovely couple. I suspect it would be a wonderful spot to awaken at sunrise.
