Holgate Windmill, October 2018 - 2

            The bin floor of Holgate Windmill on an open day. The model in the foreground, made by one of the trustees, shows the mill as it was around 1900, with the miller's house and granary on the south side. The chimney to the right of the mill belonged to the external steam engine which was used to drive one pair of millstones when there was not enough wind to turn the sails.

The display on the wall was part of the summer exhibition 'How Many Sails?'.
