The age of plastic

            313203 arrives at Bognor Regis at the end of its 7 minute journey from Barnham.

May 2023 will see the end of another long-lived fleet of trains: the 1976-built class 313s.   Withdrawn from their original route between Welwyn Garden City and Kings Cross and Moorgate in 2019, the sole survivors of the fleet have worked the coastway routes of Hampshire and Sussex since 2010.

Although the trains will soon be replaced, in 2023 there are no plans to remove semaphore signalling at Bognor.
