Ardnamurchan Aurora - a photo on Flickriver

            That was such a good show and this one is taken on my phone.  I was for the early part of the display focused on Sanna Bay and north but saw nothing until someone messaged me to say you need to look south, so south I turned.  I should have known as I had been aware that it was strangely light outside.

A couple of regrets, I didn't have my tripod with me and the display was to the south but almost overhead so no real good shots on my camera and also I had a few refreshments so didn't want to risk driving to a better location.

Watched the display for nearly two hours before going to bed at about 1:15am but got up again an hour later.  There was more cloud but the display was more to the north but this time I was getting tired and we were out early on the Saturday.  Allegedly the display improved again around 4am before the sun came up, but I was in the land of nod by then.

In spite of the promise there was no repeat the following night.
