Dutch police helicopter Augusta Westland PH-PXX, homebound (Schiphol/Amsterdam) in the evening of Sunday Oct. 23/2022 after a long salvage assistance to get four dead persons out of the water of the fast flowing tidal river Lek at Groot Ammers/Bergstoep.

            It was a family of four, father, mother and two adult daughters, coming from Rotterdam, bound for Gouda.

One woman was floating in the river near Streefkerk found by pedestrians walking on the dike there, the helicopter found another woman in the river near Groot Ammers.

They started searching for a car, and divers found a male and a female in a car on the bottom of the Lek river, near where the car ferry lands.

Police say, they probably followed their navigation system, and drove straight into the water where the road ends, at the spot where you board the car ferry.
