ferret with juvenile lymphoma - lateral view xray

            This female ferret was only 12 months old when she came in for evaluation of a large, distended abdomen. Her spleen was huge, even for a ferret. It occupied ~80% of her abdomen. She tired easily with play and her appetite was a little off. You can see in this view a mass-effect in the thorax, cranial to the heart. I'll post another picture of the necropsy (she didn't make it) so you can see what it looks like. Her direct cause of death was most likely internal bleeding, as her spleen had ruptured and she died rather acutely. (Photo 2 of 2)
