LAL 428 fire at Industry, NY - a photo on Flickriver

            Around 7:30pm on April 1, 2024,, Rush FD responded to a fire call on the Livonia, Avon & Lakeville Railroad just outside the R&GV museum property. The lead unit of the southbound road train caught fire. I am told that once the fire was discovered, the train was brought to a safe stop and the crew separated LAL 428 from the rest of the train. Rush FD used our museum property to access the locomotive to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries and no damage to property (other than LAL 428). The Rush FD and Monroe County Sherriff should be congratulated for their professionalism and quick response.
