Slender-billed Vulture (PB2_8790) - a photo on Flickriver

            Slender-billed Vulture flying over Corbett National Park.

Earlier considered part of the Indian Vulture species, this vulture is found mostly along the foothills of the Himalayas. Like most other vulture species in India, this is also critically endangered as its population continues to collapse. This is largely attributed to indiscriminate use of diclofenac in livestock.
