POUSSIÈRE DE LUNE


Souvent, le dimanche, il nous amenait à la mer
Dans sa grande barque blanche
Ouverte aux quatre vents et aux embruns salés.


Pas vraiment pour pêcher
Mais pour nous raconter l’Univers…
L’incommensurablement grand…
Les galaxies, les nébuleuses, les étoiles, les planètes et leurs lunes 
Et l’incommensurablement petit…
Nous, ceux que nos yeux ne peuvent même pas percevoir et tous les autres.


Il aimait l’Univers
Celui que l’on ressent sur notre peau, 
Celui que la Science nous fait connaître
Celui que notre imagination nous propose lorsque tombe la nuit.


Je me suis toujours demandé…
Mais comment peut-on aimer si grand…
Tout en étant si petit?


Il ne répondait jamais à ces questions.
Il disait simplement que « l’émerveillement, c’est le repos de notre âme. »


Plusieurs années plus tard, j’ai appris que, lorsqu’il était jeune,
On l’avait surnommé Poussière de Lune.

MOON DUST


Often on Sundays, he would take us to the sea
In his big white boat
Open to the four winds and salt spray.
 
Not really for fishing
But to tell us about the Universe ...
The immeasurably large ...
Galaxies, nebulae, stars, planets and their moons
And the immeasurably small ...
Us, the ones our eyes can't even see and everything else.
 
He loved the Universe
The one we feel on our skin,
The one that Science makes us know
The one that our imagination offers us when night falls.
 
I've always wondered…
But how can we love something so immense
While being so small?
 
He never answered these questions.
He simply said that "wonder is the rest of our soul. "
 
Several years later, I learned that when he was young,
He had been nicknamed Moon Dust.
