Raccoon - Procyon loto - Raton Laveur

            Early in the morning my friend Peter Simpson and I came across three young Raccoons while checking out the lower Rideau River as a potential photography spot. There was no mother Raccoon apparent, so maybe they were orphans, or just misbehaving.

Almost fifty years to the day, the bridge under construction over the river here collapsed, killing nine workers and injuring many more. Some of the rubble the animals were traversing might have been from that event.
