Smith Avenue high bridge (St. Paul) - a photo on Flickriver

I was able to get out and enjoy some photography with my fellow Flickr friend Wayne Moran .

It was a wonderful night of light, composition, and most important, friendship. It's always fun to spend some time with people who share so many of the same passions.

After trying to find several different angles, we settled on this one. This is St. Paul, MN with the Anson Northrup boat floating down the Mississippi River. The Cathedral of Saint Paul framed between the bridge arches and a few of the downtown office buildings off to the right.

Per Wiki... the High Bridge is an inverted arch bridge that carries Minnesota State Highway 149 and Smith Avenue over the Mississippi River in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It was built and opened in 1987 at a cost of $20 million. The bridge carries two lanes of street traffic over the river and is the highest bridge in St. Paul, with a deck height of 160 ft (49 m) and a clearance below of 149 ft (45 m)

The only bad part of the evening was that Wayne's new Sony 24-105 lens went for a swim in the river. After my gasp, he goes, thankfully it's insured.
