ABOUT THE WORK

Throughout the 18th century, the different strands of Spanish bodegón painting made use of sober compositions in which natural products were presented in different planes, painted with naturalist details in atmospheres enlivened by powerful games of light and shade.

This genre which was begun and developed by Juan Sánchez Cótan served as model and inspiration for Baltazr Gomes Figueira.
