Aesculus pavia rosea nana - a photo on Flickriver

            There are a few smaller Aesculus (horse chestnuts, or buckeyes if you're American) so you don't have to put up with having a gargantuan conker tree blotting out the sun. 
This is probably the smallest - a gnarly, low, bonsai of a shrub. My feeling is that although it's an interesting shape and a bit of a novelty, the flowers are not a hugely attractive feature. Other forms of A.pavia (atrosanguinea for instance) are larger but still managable in a small garden and have rich red or pink flowers.
Not to be confused with A,parviflora, which is an enormous shrub with white flowers.
