Snowflake (Explored) - Sometimes Its Good When a Friend Tags Along!

            Last year I got into taking snowflake pictures. I capture the flakes on a black wool sock. I use a 90mm macro lens and also extension tubes to get more magnification. After that I crop extensively. I select the snowflake using Topaz Remask and edit it separately from the background. Mostly I want to darken the background, so that the wool sock is blacked out.
 
We don't get a lot of snow where I live and some snowstorms don't produce good flakes. There were not many in the storm in which I captured this flake and most of them were very small. This was the largest flake I captured.  I didn't even realize the tiny flake clinging on was a snowflake until I got it under the lens.
