Over Exposed - a photo on Flickriver

Over Exposed

            Some parts of the crash scene still look quite raw. and 73 years after the event there is still a deep scar on the hill top where the Superfortress ploughed into the peaty ground.  The aircraft named "Over Exposed" crashed killing all 13 on board in a barren, cold place appropriately called Bleaklow. In the foreground are the very solid undercarriage legs, suggesting it was the centre of the impact, with the lumps of engines with whirring propellors, breaking off and flying forwards to come to rest just out of sight further up the hill (see picture below)
