Nethrops, scampi

These deep water creatures live in colonies of burrows on soft muddy substrates. There are tracks linking the burrows and some are co-habited by Frys Goby. Redundant holes make homes for long-armed squat lobsters and angular crabs( Gonoplex r). I eat creel caught langoustine/Dublin bay prawn/scampi or whatever you want to call them after seeing the devastation of their habitat by Norwegian trawlers in Loch Fyne . The prawn beds of Loch Fyne are still recovering years later.
